Poor Whitney, She will forever be known as "the fashionista who couldn't pronounce Givenchy," I'm afraid she might never live this down. Let's be honest, designer names can be really difficult to pronounce, and some we rarely hear verbalized. Save yourself some embarassment and in the case that you score yourself a national television show, you can make sure you make us fashionistas proud with your a-mazingg pronunciation skills.

Controversial Crocheting

Counterfeit Crochet is a group of angry crocheters on a mission. Their goal is to rebel against the astronomical prices and outsourced labor of designer labels. The bags are clearly knockoffs and are a mix of admiration and making fun of designers. "As a collaboration it parallels the idea of "outsourcing" labor, but also adds a democratic and perhaps anarchic level of creativity--within the basic framework.." (counterfeitcrochet.org). I think it's a pretty fascinating concept, yet technically illegal.

So, what do you think is this harmless rebellion or in as poor taste as the fake designer handbags on canal street?

I'm not really sure what i think, but i feel somewhat guilty saying that I think their really cute and i'd probably wear one? :/

A Unique Pairing

Ever since I saw this picture of Mary-Kate (correct me if i'm confusing the twins) Olsen bedazzling her vintage tee with layered bling its been on my mind! I have to admit as much as i love the comfort and worn-in feeling of a nice vintage tee I often times feel a little too casual and under-dressed. So, i absolutely love the idea of pairing it with a statement making necklace like the new Subversive for Target jewlery. Also, I stumbled upon this store that recreates tees once worn by infamous rockers, I liked this one Debbie Harry had on. Does anyone else think this is an interesting look?

If You Can't Beat em'.. Join em!

Kate Moss who has been copied by British store TopShop for years has come out with another collection for the store. Moss drew inspiration for her Spring/Summer 2008 collection from her travels to beachy locales as well as vintage and trendy details Following aloing with the popular bohemian trends expect to see floaty tunics, ethnic and tribal fabrics, and fringe. On the other end of the spectrum there are an abundance of little black dresses to fit every occasion and pieces emblazoned with trendy star prints. Judging from the buzz surrounding the collection, it seems Kate Moss will have another successful venture in the retail world!

Hello Lovahs!

It seems like everyone's talking about the upcoming Sex and the City movie. I am literally counting down the days! When the show was actually on t.v. I was too young to watch it, but in the last couple of years i've become a huge fan & seen most of the episodes. How could I not love this show? I see a bit of myself in Carrie, obsessed with fashion, a crazy love life, and true friends that stick around through everything!

I Wear my Sunglasses at Night

I've always had issues trying to find sunglasses that look right on me. It took me years to find the right size and shape of frames, and now that i've found "the ones" (courtesy of a very thoughtful ex-boyfriend), i'm never without them!

These are the secrets to finding glasses that fit and flatter your face:

• Oval Face: long, and wide. pretty much any pair of sunglasses will flatter this face type as long as proportionate to the size of the face (lucky!)
• Round Face: circular, wide face. To play down the roundness select a pair of glasses with sharp angles and lines.
• Square Face: face as wide as it is long. Choose sunglasses with round curves to soften the a harsh jawline.
• Triangular Face: broad forehead with narrow mouth/chin. Pick frames with thin rims and vertical lines, glasses should not sit too high on face.
• Oblong Face: long, narrow face. Frames should cover the center of the face to minimize length.

Spring Break Mode

My spring break officially starts this friday and i'm definitely in spring break mode. Although I really need to hold off till after my two exams on thursday! I definitely have vacation on the mind. All i can think about is bathing suits, patterned tunics, and jeweled sandals not to mention soaking up the sun on a beach.. I plan on spending my break doing just that. I expect to come back very tan and relaxed after a week off from school!

Does anyone have any exciting spring break plans.. skiing in the rockies, traveling abroad, perhaps the college favorite cancun?
