Funny story about Mary-Kate Steinmiller, one of the most stylish Voguettes on the fashion circuit..
About four years ago I attended Teen Vogue's Fashion University program in New York City. One of the things on my schedule was to tour the Teen Vogue offices, which I was incredibly excited for. My tour was led by none other than (then intern), Mary-Kate Steinmiller. She was incredibly stylish yet down-to-earth and told us about her big dreams of working in the fashion magazine industry. A few years later and look at her now.. an associate Market Editor for Teen Vogue; asbolutely inspiring!

I fell in love with this street style picture of her outfit! She has an incredibly way of pairing uber trendy but making them very wearable. I also noticed, she has a thing for printed maxi skirts and statement necklaces and it's making me anxious to try one out (though she's probably a solid foot taller than me!)

I saw a girl in HCB the other day in a Maxi skirt and I thought "ooh, what a good way to beat the cold!" you just have to make sure they don't look too frumpy which I do a real bad job at. If I could find one like the 2nd and 3rd photos I would wear them every day of the week! ;) haha
ReplyDeleteI just got a maxi skirt from F21 that i am trying to figure out how to style! This was great inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteWow she has great style. She can rock the maxi skirt like no other! I adore her sweater in the first picture too. Great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love maxi skirts!! Unfortunately I can't wear them since I'm only 1m68... :s which I had long legs haha :p

oh darling btw I notice you also are on IFB? I joined today, and I'd like to add you as a friend, just I have NO clue how to do that... :s maybe you could help me out? :)
ReplyDeleteI love maxi skirts! I have one that was my grandma's, but it's about mid-calf length rather than floor length. I wanted a really long one, but when I tried one on I didn't think it suited me =(

ReplyDeletethis makes me wish i were taller, too! she seems amazing :)
ReplyDeleteTypically, I'm not into maxi skirts; but after seeing Mary-Kate rock them so elegantly, I desperately want one!! :)
ReplyDeleteit truly is inspiring! i love her style :) too bad i'm too short to pull it off!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous outfits!
ReplyDeleteI'm 5'2", so I don't think I could pull off a maxi skirt, but maybe this summer I will try!

Her look is trendy yet timeless and chic. Love it! I think it might even inspire me to try wearing maxi skirts (but probably with heels instead of my usual flats).
ReplyDeleteI love the look with the leather jacket & maxi-skirt. I have worn the longer skirts before - but always with some kind of funky heeled boot. I'm only 5' 4 1/2" (yes I count that 1/2" extra! every bit helps!).
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pics!

That's amazing! What a fun and exciting experience for you. She is adorable and has chic effortless style! xo
ReplyDeleteI like this look so much, but I'm always afraid that these types of skirts will make me look stumpy almost, since I'm definitely not model tall. Her accessorizing is absolutely flawless though - and something I definitely want to mimic! So fun that you got to meet her in person - her style is BEAUTIFUL.
ReplyDeletewonderful post! i loved it. maxi skirts are terrific. i cannot seem to get enough of them ;) and i haven't heard about her so thanks for letting me know
